April 19th King's Mountain
Will you be there, or not?
The poll is at right. --->
Be honest, folks. Commit, one way or the other so we know the deal.
Right now I know people intend to travel from Florida, WV and DC.
That's a long trip and a lot of money that could be spent elsewhere, so if you intend to be there, stand up and let us know. If you can't make it, say it. No foul if you can't make it, but we need to know what to expect.
You are the Resistance.
Get it?
I will be there.

Can't vote, since the poll has no "or not" option.
ReplyDeleteThe Congress is important but I'm already committed to spending every April 19th, while I still breathe, out on the rifle range, teaching our posterity to shoot!
Just like times of old, my family will be traveling with me. They will not participate in the Congress, but will be taking in the surroundings to support our efforts.
ReplyDeleteMike M.
Will details on the available accommodations and reservation info etc and itinerary be forthcoming?
ReplyDeleteI'll be there, barring anything unexpected. My family will be making the trip with me, but they won't be attending the Congress. However, I've spoken to a friend of mine local to King's Mtn and he will probably be joining me at the Congress.
ReplyDeletemy wife and I are still committed
ReplyDeleteK,
ReplyDeleteLet's make a deal...you update the map and put a "III" on Arizona (see my December 17, 2012 at 3:32 PM post under Delegates to the III), and I'll be there representing my state. And that's a hell of a drive, from AZ to North Cakalaky. But it gives me a chance to see some of my own country that I've not visited before.
K, really? Supersize and bold? Sheesh, I know AZ is one of the best states in the USA (constitutional carry, SB1070, open carry, little snow, etc), but we don't need to be supersize/bold on the Congress map. Thanks tho.
DeleteI'll be bringing a buddy with me, maybe more.

K,
ReplyDeleteI will be there "with bells on"! Great pick since North Carolina is an open carry State (be aware of certain restrictions). I think I'll wear my new Safariland 6004 Drop Leg just to make a point to all the .gov trolls that I'm sure will be lurking about in the shadows. Hey, that's an idea. Maybe your could offer a prize for the Delegate that identifies the most .gov trolls. Just a thought.
See you there.
Alan S. Pedersen
Proud III Delegate from the great State of SC
Fort Mill, SC
Alan, I think the Park is in SC, so NO open carry sadly.
ReplyDeleteIt is the ONE thing that made me think twice about going. I am not comfortable bringing my guys in half-armed.
So it's South Carolina or North Carolina? Which ever it is I will not be able to attend due to lack of funds...But when the battle begins I will do what ever it takes to be wherever...
ReplyDeleteB.R.III
Anyone want to "carpool" from the Colo. area or get picked up on the way? Depending on vehicle I can bring 1 to 3 passengers.

i'm in.
ReplyDeletewould ya kindly put a big ol' III on virginia for me?
ReplyDeleteWhat part of va are you in? I'd like to go I just don't trust my old lil Honda right now to make the trip. I'd like to carpool if possible and don't mind throwing gas money out there.
Deletewithin striking distance of lynchburg. if the weather is right i plan on riding my bike, but if i drive we can link up. love the screen name. you in mosby country?
DeleteNot right now, I goto WVU. But yeah I grew up right in his old backyard, literally. My mom lives in fredricksburg so I would just drive down to va from here and hopefully meet up with someone.
DeleteSnakebite - the gray ghost < YouTube it great song
I would love nothing more. But I am a working American, I have "no" money that is not already spent at this time.

you'll find the park named King's Mountain, S.C. toward the western area at the border between S.C. & N.C... there is also a place called King's Mountain, N.C. not too far away... it's the Park we're headed to...
ReplyDeleteagain, my offer to assist someone make the Congree still stands... my wife and I will be traveling in our xtended cab p/u pulling a camping trailer... we are also willing to loan our camping equipment as well but you must contact me soon so I have time to make the needed arrangements...
see whomever on 4/19/13
I would like to speak with Mr Towsend about combining this event with his NC PATCON. This would allow any Militias that wish to attend to show up fully armed and in uniform (in NC). It would also be on private property, which could prevent many problems with local LEO etc.
ReplyDeleteThe whole King's Mountain idea is great, but I think things may go better if we combine the functions. Any other input?
private property would be better in my book too.
DeleteRR,
DeleteAny chance you are the same fellow from MD's site? If so, I can't wait to meet you.
DTOM
that would be me. do i need my body armor?:)
DeleteNothing like that, MD's has been a daily read for some time and I always enjoyed your comments. I was pleased to see you on the III sites. I submitted the Home Invasion article some time ago.

I am no longer able to attend on the 19th. Finances are just too tight right now, and I cannot attend in person anymore.
ReplyDeleteWill be there with 1 guest.
ReplyDeleteCDP
Being a SC Native born & raised,I would love to attend & represent my current adopted State of Mississippi. As things stand, I am commited to other obligations that are already straining my limited budget.
ReplyDeleteBut I am going to do everything in my power to find a way.
Semper Fi from Mississippi.
I will be there if I can. Some things are lining up that might make it possible...
ReplyDeleteI do not see a Poll. Android phone/chrome browser, maybe that's my issue. Also looking for some kind of events page ..a park URL, or some further data. All I've been able to look up is a Wikipedia entry on Kings MTN.
ReplyDeleteGetting close, do we have a confirmed number of participants? Other than the poll that is.
ReplyDeleteIn all honesty folks, if we can't get more than 50 people to show up our efforts may be better spent elsewhere.
I plan to go, with PSD even if it turns out to be a big PATCOM type event.
I have posted everywhere possible, I think many folks are worried about being away from home on Patriot's Day weekend. But what will be, will be.
Montani Semper Liberi
i'm still in. its only a days drive from home. it'll take longer than that for anything to develope. might be a good thing to be away on that day. i'm hearing rumors of a dhs pre-emptive strike on "domestic terrorists" this spring.
DeleteOk, kiddies, moment of truth. If I'm comin' I gotta know in the next 24-48 hours. I've made a lot of suggestions but nothing stuck except the location.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking to arrive in Charlotte about noonish on the eighteenth and be at the mountain at 10am on the 19th. I will probably stay at at the La Quinta south of the airport. I'm open for the rest of that Friday and Saturday. I willl likely depart Charlotte for home sometime around 5pm on Saturday the 20th.
What say ye.
as i stated in the new thread, my wife and i will be there
ReplyDeleteWouldn't miss it! Hoping to bring a few friends, but either way, I'll be there...
